Dia Dhuit movie goers, Or hello in Irish,   Claire Keegan's great novella has been made into a movie.  Awesomely deceptive novella.  At 1 hour and thirty seven minutes it is not part of the current bloated movies, but from a novella maybe shorter would be better.   Cillian Murphy stars as a coal merchant in 1985 who sees something wrong that the town does not see.  A look at our implicit attitude to authority.   On a fashion note Cillian Murphy fashionably  rehabilitated some working man's clobber from the 80's but only for rich folk in the UK.  Apparently lots of natural fibres went into 80's working clothes which costs compared to today's plastic not fantastics working dude …

Recently saw the 1922 version and although looks dated to modern eyes so many horror conventions arose.  Sadly the three minute piano overture with blank screen may not survive into new version.  Vale silent film!  Be aware, German version of Dracula has rabbits teeth together in the old versions.
